Transient Plasma Systems (TPS)

The Challenge

TPS’ cost-effective and easy-to-integrate ignition solution boosts automotive fuel efficiency by up to 20 percent and reduces NOx emissions by more than 50 percent. The startup’s goal was to increase awareness of its technology and demonstrate its expertise in the space among OEMs, suppliers, and investors – at a time when key audiences are primarily focused on electric vehicles.

The Airfoil Solution

The future of transportation will be electric, but that future isn’t quite here yet. Using extensive third-party research as a proof point, Airfoil developed a compelling narrative that underscored an urgent need for cleaner combustion-engine solutions as the world works toward mainstream adoption of electric vehicles. We hosted deskside briefings with reporters covering climate issues, emissions, and clean mobility, and we pursued award and event submissions in the clean energy space.

The Results

Our messaging and media relations efforts led to 14 feature stories in tier-one outlets such as WIRED, Forbes, and Ars Technica. We also coordinated 12 media interviews with news outlets including The New York Times, MotorTrend, Automotive News, Wards Auto, and Autoline. Our awards outreach resulted in TPS being named a BusinessGreen Technology of the Year Award Finalist for 2019 and an Automotive News PACEpilot honoree for 2020.
