THE CHALLENGE

Parrot’s ANAFI USA drone was a vital product introduction for the company. It represented a deeper commitment into professional verticals, where demand for a versatile enterprise-class drone with exceptional security features was at an all-time high. The product introduction would need to make a big impact, but the COVID pandemic shifted the direction of the launch. 

THE AIRFOIL SOLUTION

The planned in-person product launch event was no longer an option. In a few short months, Airfoil worked alongside Parrot to develop a new strategy, messaging, and launch format. Our goal was to organize and manage an embargoed virtual media tour and launch event -- one that would drive just as much interest and coverage as a traditional product launch. 

THE RESULTS

Our comprehensive product launch strategy helped Parrot overcome unforeseen challenges, including product changes and a global focus on social distancing. Parrot's virtual event hosted 28 people worldwide, including consumers, key media, and business partners. The resulting coverage garnered more than 148.6 million impressions in outlets including CNET, PCMag, Protocol, Slashgear, and TechRadar.

THE CHALLENGE

Peloton Technology develops connected and automated vehicle technology that aims to innovate platooning in commercial truck fleets. A recent product announcement marked a major milestone for the company, a landmark moment for the connected vehicle and trucking industry, and a unique set of challenges to address for Peloton's target market. 

THE AIRFOIL SOLUTION

Our first order of business was to demystify misconceptions around the technology and its potential impact on the trucking industry. In the weeks leading up to the Automated Vehicle Symposium, we developed storylines around Peloton’s unique vision and approach. We then hosted 15 briefings with key media and analysts in technology, consumer, and automotive to generate high-quality coverage.

THE RESULTS

Peloton owned two-thirds of the targeted media share-of-voice compared to its competitors, representing a 55% boost due to our product launch coverage. Airfoil’s media relations strategy resulted in 33 unique articles, generating 1,500 social shares and a 108% increase in website traffic.

THE CHALLENGE

Comcast wanted to boost sales among 18-to-25-year-olds in Michigan—a huge chunk of the state's population and a vital audience for its long-term success. Social ads are ideal for reaching these audiences, but attracting the attention of this notoriously fickle and hard-to-impress demographic is easier said than done. 

THE AIRFOIL SOLUTION

Airfoil used Twitter and Facebook ads to drive brand awareness and acquisitions. We targeted students at Michigan State University and the University of Michigan, two of the largest growth opportunities for Comcast in the state. Ads were delivered to the right audiences with strategic targeting based on geography and interests.

THE RESULTS

The award-winning social media campaign exceeded Comcast’s expectations and over-achieved on engagement goals. More importantly, the company could trace business results directly to the social media advertising. During the campaign, the video product experienced a 107% sales increase, and the high-speed product saw a 104% sales increase.

THE CHALLENGE

F-Secure, a Finnish cybersecurity company with B2B and B2C product offerings, set out to become the enterprise-class cybersecurity provider for small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Success would require boosting awareness of its business offerings in the U.S. Despite being well-known and respected in Europe, the majority of F-Secure’s U.S. awareness and coverage was associated with the company’s consumer products.

THE AIRFOIL SOLUTION

In the cybersecurity space, the biggest U.S. publications closely follow the trends covered by specialized trade publications. As such, cybersecurity trade coverage increases the likelihood of tier-one media coverage. Airfoil executed a “sandwich strategy” that simultaneously targeted trade media and tier-one outlets. Our success in landing coverage of F-Secure’s SMB offerings in security trades led to coverage in many of the nation’s most-read media outlets.

THE RESULTS

After landing extensive coverage for F-Secure in a variety of security trade publications, Airfoil earned 43 pieces of tier-one media coverage for the company in 2019. F-Secure was featured in stories by The Wall Street Journal, Consumer Reports, Forbes, CNET, WIRED, Ars Technica, and Mashable, and Airfoil scheduled a one-on-one interview between F-Secure and The New York Times.

Building the case for cleaner combustion-engine solutions.

THE CHALLENGE

TPS’ cost-effective and easy-to-integrate ignition solution boosts automotive fuel efficiency by up to 20 percent and reduces NOx emissions by more than 50 percent. The startup’s goal was to increase awareness of its technology and demonstrate its expertise in the space among OEMs, suppliers, and investors – at a time when key audiences are primarily focused on electric vehicles.

THE AIRFOIL SOLUTION

The future of transportation will be electric, but that future isn’t quite here yet. Using extensive third-party research as a proof point, Airfoil developed a compelling narrative that underscored an urgent need for cleaner combustion-engine solutions as the world works toward mainstream adoption of electric vehicles. We hosted deskside briefings with reporters covering climate issues, emissions, and clean mobility, and we pursued award and event submissions in the clean energy space.

THE RESULTS

Our messaging and media relations efforts led to 14 feature stories in tier-one outlets such as WIRED, Forbes, and Ars Technica. We also coordinated 12 media interviews with news outlets including The New York Times, MotorTrend, Automotive News, Wards Auto, and Autoline. Our awards outreach resulted in TPS being named a BusinessGreen Technology of the Year Award Finalist for 2019 and an Automotive News PACEpilot honoree for 2020.

THE CHALLENGE

University Liggett School needed to reshape how the parents of prospective students learned about the school, its curriculum, its faculty, and the community. Prior to partnering with Airfoil, the school used one-size-fits-all marketing materials for all grades and regions. Families at University Liggett School are diverse, and those materials weren’t driving new enrollments.

THE AIRFOIL SOLUTION

Airfoil identified target personas and unique messaging, channels, and content types that would resonate best with each audience. To drive engagement and deliver our messages, we created videos for social ads, website experiences, and live events. The ads were targeted using personas to filter by geography, parents with children, and income level.

THE RESULTS

Through new messaging and creative elements that connected deeply with key audiences, Airfoil’s demand generation strategy helped University Liggett School reach more than 32.3K prospects in target audiences and regions, garnering more than 140.8K impressions. The videos Airfoil developed were viewed nearly 9K times, at the cost of $0.17 per view.

THE CHALLENGE

Quantiphi, an AI and machine-learning company, was looking to generate new sales leads in the U.S. In order to meet aggressive growth goals, the company would need to resonate with buyers in diverse target markets, explain how its complex technology could solve key business challenges, and reach qualified leads at every stage of the decision process.

THE AIRFOIL SOLUTION

Airfoil set out to attract the right kinds of customers through targeted, high-quality, customer-centric content that could be used across a wide array of communication channels. Our work began by exploring the unique needs and challenges for potential customers across the media, healthcare, retail, and insurance sectors. By understanding the motivations of each audience, we created content that would address their pain points and was aligned to search terms that would drive buyers to Quantiphi. We then developed a range of materials to drive engagement and new sales opportunities, including a long-form downloadable eGuide, multiple blog posts, social content, and email campaigns.

THE RESULTS

In 90 days, Airfoil’s efforts generated 12,000 visitors to content we developed for Quantiphi. Our efforts created more than 300 new leads for Quantiphi, as well as new engagements with more than 2,000 existing prospects. The content we developed increased traffic to Quantiphi’s website through paid search, paid social activities, email marketing, and organic pageviews.
