Royal Oak, Mich., July 12, 2017 – Airfoil, a marketing communications and public relations agency for global technology brands, today announced the addition of veteran tech journalist Tim Moynihan as editorial services and media strategist.
With 20 years of experience as a professional writer and editor, Moynihan will work with account teams and clients to guide the strategic direction of media relations programs across the agency. Drawing from his background in technology, he will develop earned media strategies designed to stand out in today’s changing media landscape. Additionally, Moynihan will focus on the development of long- and short-form content for a variety of industries and audience segments. His role will involve creating and collaborating with B2B and B2C clients on native, branded and bylined content and inbound marketing campaigns.
"When I worked as a journalist, one of my favorite things was translating complex products and services into intriguing story angles,” said Moynihan. “I’m excited to use my tech journalism experience to develop stories reporters will want to write, garnering great coverage for Airfoil’s diverse portfolio of forward-thinking clients.”
Previously, Moynihan was a staff writer at WIRED, where he focused on the latest trends in gadgets, embedded technologies, and virtual reality. Moynihan also served as homepage editor at CNET, web producer at TechTV, and senior editor at PCWorld, where he helped transition the monthly IDG publication from a print-first to an online-first strategy.
Moynihan studied magazine journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia and is based in Airfoil’s New York City office.
“We are thrilled Tim is joining the Airfoil team,” said Lisa Vallee-Smith, CEO, Airfoil. “His background in journalism coupled with his deep understanding of technology will drive great results for our clients. Tim is a tremendous asset to Airfoil and the agency’s entire client roster.”
