I attended Alan Mulally's keynote last night at CES. It's refreshing to hear Ford's commitment to consumer technology in-vehicle. This is not just technology for technology's sake (or to impress Wall Street), but technology for the consumer's sake.
Ford, especially with its partnership with Microsoft on the Sync system, is learning from the technology industry and applying that to the auto business. Ford's future is bright, given this 'open' approach to technology. This is sure to be a big win for technology consumers.
(Disclosure: I’m attending the conference on behalf of our client, the Consumer Electronics Association; separately, Airfoil also represents Microsoft as a client.)
