Taking off – A Look Back at Q1 2017

Our agency started 2017 off with a bang – and we’re not even close to slowing down! It’s been a very exciting and successful first quarter for Airfoil as we conquer new events, explore new tactics and bring on new teammates. Here’s a peek at what we’ve been up to.

Reaching New Heights

We recently celebrated our first year in our new Royal Oak headquarters and business has taken off for us (pun intended). Our client roster has grown with the additions of dynamic brands like: PoyntMichigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), XponentialWorks, eoStar and Village Green. “We’ve had a tremendously successful start to the year and are thrilled to partner with our new clients on creative public relations and marketing communications programs to help them meet their business objectives,” said Lisa Vallee-Smith, CEO, Airfoil Group.

Cutting Through the Noise

We kicked off the year by supporting several clients at the hottest events in tech: CES, the North American International Auto Show, and South by Southwest. These shows are massive in terms of audience and logistics, and they continue to grow exponentially year after year. For more than 11 years, we’ve helped our tech-focused clients cut through the noise, win awards, connect with customers and build awareness through high-value earned media placements.

This year at CES, our audacious pitching efforts secured more than 333 high-value earned media placements for 4 clients in publications including: USA Today, Huffington Post, TechCrunch, CNET, Forbes, Fortune, Engadget, The Verge, Ars Technica and more, resulting in more than 4.2 billion impressions.  

Soaring Talent

As our business continues to grow, so does our team of amazing talent. We’ve strategically added new (and not so new) team members to help round out our offerings and add value for clients. We’ve hired seven new staff members and welcomed back three familiar faces. One of our most recent returning employees, Elizabeth VanStee decided the time was right to take another look at Airfoil, and returned as our creative and design strategist.
