Recently, one of our firm’s longest-standing automotive clients Faurecia held a grand-opening event for its North American Headquarters and Seating Technical Center in Auburn Hills, Mich.

It was a great event with the shiny new headquarters chock full of customers, employees, local dignitaries, media and global executives eager to discuss the future of the company. But their focus on the future got us thinking about the past.

In the 10-years since we first earned the Faurecia business, the supplier has grown from number 42 on the list of suppliers to be the region’s sixth-largest automotive supplier. Faurecia now has 47 sites in Canada, Mexico and the U.S., employing 20,000 people. Of those, 13 locations and 4,100 employees are in Michigan.

A recent article in the Detroit Free Press is a great testament to the business’ growth during tough market times when many other suppliers were folding under economic pressure.

When we first took on the Faurecia account, we were a fledgling, four-year-old firm with just over 20 employees but more ideas and goals than we could count.  We’re so proud of the way we’ve grown together and advanced innovation across the globe.

Over the past decade, our work with Faurecia has expanded from media relations to include presentation training and social media engagement on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. In fact, we were the first to automotive supplier to hold a contest on Pinterest. We also support the company’s corporate giving initiative, Faurecia Unites with Employees for Local Service (FUELS), which will kick off again in September. Since the food drive began in 2010, Faurecia and its employees have provided more than 2.4 million meals to hungry neighbors throughout North America.

When a business establishes a new presence, it’s more than a physical move – it marks both the company’s achievements, as well as a commitment to the future of its people, customers and community. As we attended Faurecia’s recent grand opening, it evoked our own feelings of accomplishment and hope around Airfoil’s expansion into new national (New York) and international (London, Hong Kong, China and Brazil) markets. Faurecia’s huge milestone was representative of what can be accomplished when a passionate PR and marketing firm and a dynamic business explore new horizons together.

Congratulations to the Faurecia team as they continue to move onward and upward.
